An Experimental Urban Memory System for Lost Street Art
Mnéme Walls / Concept
Mnéme Walls is an urban memory archive for lost street art — murals, graffiti, painted walls and public images that have been erased, covered, demolished or forgotten.
Inspired by the idea of memory as both material and myth, the project treats each lost wall as a contemporary relic: a trace from an unseen urban layer waiting to be revealed.
Each marked location becomes a memory node. A QR code opens archival material, artist stories, before/after images, geolocation data and future AI / AR reconstruction.
The archive begins in Volos, in dialogue with Iolcos, Pelion, the Argonautic myth and the city’s graffiti culture from 1997 onwards. It connects ancient memory with contemporary street culture.
Community Mission: Mnéme Walls reconnects mural and graffiti artists, crews and witnesses after more than 20 years. Its purpose is to build community, pass memory and knowledge to the new generation, and activate something new in Volos — and later across Greece.
Conclusion: Mnéme Walls transforms absence into experience. The erased wall becomes a living archive, a public story, and a luminous trace of urban memory.

Σκοπός του Mnéme Walls είναι να ξανασυνδέσει, μετά από 20+ χρόνια, τους καλλιτέχνες και τα crews που από το 1997 και μετά έγραψαν και ζωγράφισαν τους τοίχους του Βόλου — να δημιουργηθεί community, να μεταδοθεί η μνήμη και η γνώση στη νέα γενιά και να ξεκινήσει κάτι νέο στον Βόλο, πριν ανοίξει σε όλη την Ελλάδα.
Κάθε artist έχει ξεχωριστή public portfolio σελίδα με contact links, Instagram / website, έργα-highlights και μικρή ιστορία για το πότε δραστηριοποιήθηκε στον Βόλο και ποιο ίχνος άφησε στην πόλη.

Κάθε mural / memory wall έχει τη δική του public σελίδα, QR marker και share button. Ο απλός user βλέπει Archive, Artist Portfolios, Memory Map και μπορεί να μοιραστεί κάθε μνήμη.
Memory Map
Τα graffiti items που έχουν latitude/longitude εμφανίζονται στον χάρτη. Για να δουλέψει σωστά το geolocation από κινητό, ανέβασε το site online σε HTTPS.

Τύπωσε το QR σε μικρό sticker ή μεταλλική πινακίδα και τοποθέτησέ το στο σημείο όπου κάποτε υπήρχε το έργο. Το marker δεν αντικαθιστά το mural· λειτουργεί σαν relic, σαν portal προς το κρυφό layer της μνήμης.
